Before moving to Scottsdale and
opening knitting in
scottsdale in 2000 Roberta
Rosenfeld was the owner of
The Woolgathering in New
York City, after establishing
The Yarn Store on Manhattan’s
upper-east-side. She is
recognized as an expert in hand knitting
with 24 years of
technique and design experience. New
York Magazine
Best Bets wrote, "The
Woolgathering offers instruction,
workshops and a superior selection
of yarns. Roberta’s
exclusive patterns and
her custom-instruction ensure
perfectly sized sweaters." Now Roberta and
her daughter
Karen Monier are continuing
these high standards of
excellence at knitting in scottsdale.

THREE GENERATIONS OF KNITTERS
THREE INTERPRETATIONS I designed this sampler baby
afghan in 1988 for my
first grandson. I have made
6 personal ones for my
grandchildren and a few samples including
an adult
version.

about yarns and knitting, and enjoy spending time with and getting to know people.
We are also very passionate about design.
When we see a new yarn we not only see beautiful fibers and colors, we see a fabulous creation in the making.

SOFTWARE TO WRITE OUR PATTERNS
 Pattern writing software
is useful. However we are
not your typical yarn
shop. We are a design studio
that combines knitting expertise
with creative design.
Our patterns are custom
developed and easy to
follow, including precise schematics.

 We carry many beautiful yarns from classic
to novelty. When we fall in love with a yarn we enjoy seeing how many completely different styles we can do with the same
yarn. For example, see women's sweaters numbers 14, 15, 16, and 17. We make them so different that sometimes you don't even realize it’s the same yarn.
