This cardigan and hat (not shown - pattern included) are shaped by a series of decreases that become the mitered corners. It is made in 2 pieces; each from center back to center front. I-cord buttons are knit with a contrasting color.

If you have baby weight yarn in your stash for the I-cord buttons it has to be colorfast cotton or superwash wool and launder the same as the body of cardigan.

The cardigan is knit in SandnesGarn Lanett (wool) or SandnesGarn Mandarin Petit.

SKILL LEVELS FOR KNITTING

Beginner

Projects for first-time knitters using basic knit and purl stitches. Minimal shaping.

Easy

Projects using basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing.

Intermediate

Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.

Experienced

Projects using advanced techniques and stitches, such as short rows, fair isle, more intricate intarsia, cables, lace patterns and numerous color changes.

           100% merino wool
           50 grams - 214 yards

            SandnesGarn - Mandarin Petit
             100% cotton
             50 grams - 198 yards

GAUGE: 28 stitches and 56 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch on size 3 needles for either yarn;
             or size needles to obtain the correct gauge

NEEDLES: size 1 and size 3 straight needles
                 size 3 or smaller double pointed needles or 4 stitch holders


NOTIONS: tapestry needle
