A cardigan knit in the basketweave stitch, closed with a zipper. We sewed a little patch on the left front lower edge. Knit in SandnesGarn Lanett (superwash wool) or SandnesGarn Mandarin Petit (cotton).

SKILL LEVELS FOR KNITTING

Beginner

Projects for first-time knitters using basic knit and purl stitches. Minimal shaping.

Easy

Projects using basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing.

Intermediate

Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.

Experienced

Projects using advanced techniques and stitches, such as short rows, fair isle, more intricate intarsia, cables, lace patterns and numerous color changes.

YARN:  SandnesGarn - Lanett
           100% merino wool
           50 grams - 214 yards

            SandnesGarn - Mandarin Petit
             100% cotton
             50 grams - 198 yards

GAUGE: 28 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches in basket weave stitch on size 3 needles for either yarn;
             or size needles to obtain the correct gauge

NEEDLES: size 1 and size 3 straight needles
                size 3 or smaller double pointed needles or 4 stitch holders

NOTIONS: 1 separating zipper (purchase a zipper longer, rather than shorter, than needed because it can be

                 shortened to the length of the cardigan front). The cardigan front should not be stretched to adjust to

                 a too short zipper.



CARE: machine wash, gentle cycle - lay flat to dry
