children's cardigan 6 - tootsie rolls

A stylish cardigan and hat (hat pattern included) for a very special girl. A fingering yarn is knit in stockinette stitch with 2 strands of yarn held together to get the tweed effect. The collar cuffs and hat trim are knit in novelty fur.

For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

NEEDLES:

size 6 and size 8 straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
size 6 or smaller double-pointed needles to use in place of stitch holders for shoulders
size G crochet hook

OTHER NOTIONS:

3 or 4 buttons ¾ inch

GAUGE:

20 stitches x 28 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on size 8
