This hat is made using three easy stitches; Stockinette
stitch, 2 x 2 ribbing and garter stitch. It looks very flattering on. An optional knit flower and leaves are sewn onto the
front of the hat. Knit in Cascade Yarn's Pastaza. Pattern is written for straight or circular needles.

YARN: Cascade Yarns - Pastaza
50% llama, 50% wool
100 grams - 132 yards
GAUGE: 14 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in stockinette
stitch on size 10 needles;
or size needle
to obtain the correct gauge
NEEDLES: size 9 circular needle, 16 inches long OR
size 9 straight needles (see note)
size 10 circular needle, 16 inches long
size 10 double pointed needles
NOTE: It is difficult to avoid twisting when
joining for rounds immediately after casting on. To avoid twisting, DO NOT JOIN FOR ROUNDS after cast on; instead work the
first 4 rows in stockinette stitch back and forth, then place a ring marker on needle and join for rounds, being careful not
to twist. Therefore you would not need the size 9 circular needle.

TO DETERMINE SIZE
Take a measuring tape and place
it around the circumference of the head, slightly above the ears, with the tape held fairly closely to the head. Measure your
head and then compare the measurement with the table below to find your size .
Finished hats are approximately
1" to 1.5" smaller than head circumference to allow for the stretch in knits.
