If you love plaids you will love this bag. Knit in the round with Brown Sheep - Lamb's Pride. You create the purse handle by making felted beads. The edge of the purse has a crocheted ruffle. We pinned a silk flower on ours for a little extra.

85% wool, 15% mohair
113 grams - 190 yards
 
4 skeins required for main color
1 skein required for contrasting color A (bottom of purse and 4 corner
   stripes)
1 skein required for contrasting color B (most of the horizontal and
   vertical stripes)
1 skein required for contrasting color C (remaining horizontal and 
   vertical stripes)

 

NOTE

 

When felting the gauge does not have to be exact, but:
If your gauge is too tight the purse will not felt well
if your gauge is too loose you may run out of yarn

 

GAUGE

 

Before Felting: 14 stitches and 16 rows = 4 inches
 
After Felting: 20 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches

 

NEEDLES

 

size 11 circular needle - 24 inches long
 
size 11 straight needle - 10 inches long for felted beads
 
size J crochet hook

 

NOTIONS

 

1 set (4 pieces) of purse feet 12mm - gold or silver
 
1 magnetic snap 18mm (for lined purses only) - gold or silver
 
large-eyed sharp needle (size 18 - 20 chenille needle)
