We copied an expensive boutique purse and wrote patterns for both knitting and crocheting. The front of the purse is covered with coordinating knit flowers on the knit purse and crocheted flowers on the crocheted version. Both versions are worked with Needful Yarns  - Geranium. Two strands of yarn are held together to knit or crochet this purse for firm body. The yellow purse is the knit version. The pink purse is the crocheted version.

 

SKILL LEVELS FOR KNITTING
	Beginner	Projects for first-time knitters using basic knit and purl stitches. Minimal shaping.
	Easy	Projects using basic stitches, repetitive stitch patterns, simple color changes, and simple shaping and finishing.
	Intermediate	Projects with a variety of stitches, such as basic cables and lace, simple intarsia, double-pointed needles and knitting in the round needle techniques, mid-level shaping and finishing.
	Experienced	Projects using advanced techniques and stitches, such as short rows, fair isle, more intricate intarsia, cables, lace patterns and numerous color changes.

 

TO MAKE THIS PURSE
YARN	Needful Yarns — Geranium 50% linen, 30% acrylic, 20% rayon 50 grams - 104 yards   7 balls required - knit version   9 balls required - crochet version (to make the same piece, crocheting                             always  takes more yarn than knitting does)   NOTE: There are 6 contrasting colors, 1 ball of each for trim and flowers. The price depends on the yarn best suited for the color of the purse you are knitting. Please contact us if you would like us to suggest yarns.   You probably have some of the yarn in your stash. Included in the 6 contrasting colors is a dark color to outline the purse and a metallic for a little sparkle.
KNIT GAUGE	WITH 2 STRANDS OF YARN HELD TOGETHER 18 stitches 24 rows = 4 inches in reverse stockinette stitch on size 6                  needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge
CROCHET GAUGE	WITH 2 STRANDS OF YARN HELD TOGETHER 13 stitches and 18 rows = 4 inches in single crochet ON size H crochet                   hook; or size crochet hook to obtain the correct gauge
NEEDLES	For knit purse: size 5 and size 6 straight needles - 10 inches long size E crochet hook for trim   For crochet purse: size H crochet hook size F crochet hook for flowers
NOTIONS	2 opening rings 3/4"  available in:    gold    nickel    antique brass    black nickel   8 5/8" buttons to match rings   optional: 3/4 yard lining for purse
