purse 28 - peony

purse_peony

A version of this breath-taking purse was seen in an expensive boutique, it was crocheted. Upon many requests I adapted my crochet version (purse 28 - peony) to a knit version purse 17 - (calla lily), and wrote a pattern. The front of the purse is covered with coordinating crocheted flowers. Two strands of yarn are held together to crochet this purse for a firm body. The clearly written pattern includes schematics and techniques.

Go to your stash and select coordinating colors for your flowers or purchase odds and ends.
Different textures and weights add interest. Make a selection of flowers (we made 23 flowers, a few leaves, and a few corkscrews) in any color combinations you desire. Make some flowers using two colors.

For your purse to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important.

It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.
