TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PATTERN

- Cast-on
- k1, p1 ribbing
- decreasing: k2tog and ssk

- Faced center fronts with buttonholes on right front and right front facing
- Joining flaps to back of cardigan using three needle method

80% Pima Cotton—20% Merino Wool
1.75 ounces-(
50 grams)         222 yards-(202 meters) each pull skein

5(6, 7, 7, 8) pull skeins

For your cardigan to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important. It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

SUGGESTED NEEDLE SIZES
- Size 3-(3.25 mm) and size 5-(3.75 mm) straight needles; or size needles to obtain the correct gauge


NOTIONS

- 12 double pointed needles size 5 (3.75 mm) or smaller to hold each flap until flap is joined to cardigan back—they all do not have to be the same size
- 24 point protectors or rubber bands for the ends of double-pointed needles
- ring markers
- tapestry needle
- 8 buttons size 5/8 inch (16mm)

GAUGE
- 28 stitches and 40 rows = 4 inches-(10 cm) in stockinette stitch on size 5-(3.75 mm) needles
