ABOUT

I have been designing and writing knit patterns for many years. I studied children's wear design and flat pattern design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. I was always drawn to knitted garments, creating both the fabric and the shaping at the same time.
I have been published in Vogue Knitting and Knit Simple, designed for the movie Stepmom, knit for Martha Stewart Magazine.
Before moving to Scottsdale and opening knitting in scottsdale in 2000, I established The Yarn Store on Manhattan’s upper-east-side before opening the Woolgathering also in New York City. I am recognized as an expert in hand knitting technique and being a creative designer. I also take pride in the clarity of my written patterns including illustrations and videos.

New York Magazine Best Bets wrote, "The Woolgathering offers instruction, workshops and a superior selection of yarns. Roberta’s exclusive patterns and her custom-instruction ensure perfectly sized sweaters."
Now I am continuing these high standards of excellence at knitting in scottsdale. |
