- A washable and dryable non-felting yarn, for the ribbed cuffs and the pompoms
- A yarn that felts for when machine washed in hot water with agitation for the heads.
- The cuffs knit with the washable yarn remain as stretchy as when knit.
The seam is invisibly woven together before the felting process.
The unique head covers are generously sized to fit your largest irons. You control the size by checking on them as they are in the felting process.

TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PATTERN
Links to videos for selected techniques are included. I look for videos as close to possible as the instructions I have written. Sometimes they may be slightly different but still very helpful.

YARN USED FOR SAMPLE
Note:
- The yarn used for the cuffs and pompoms must be machine washable and dryable.
- The yarn used for the head must be 100% wool or mostly wool with a bit of mohair.
- Sometimes a wool that is bleached (usually white or a very pale color) will not felt, as the bleaching process damages the fibers.

100% superwash wool
3.5 ounces-(100 grams)   -   200 yards-(183 m) each skein

Lamb's Pride Worsted
85% wool - 15% mohair
4 ounces-(113 grams)   -   190 yards-(174 m) each pull skein
Main Color—2 skeins
Contrasting Color—1 skein

For your golf club covers to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE. The gauge does not have to be as precise as a clothing article. It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

- Size 6-(4 mm) for the cuff

GAUGE
- 22 sts and 26 rows = 4 inches-(10 cm) in stockinette stitch using superwash on size 6-(4 mm) needles
- 14 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches-(10 cm) in stockinette stitch on size 11-(8 mm) needles before felting
