For most patterns you can choose the size you would like to knit because the pattern is written with different numbers of stitches for width and rows for length. The different sizes are based on having the same gauge as the pattern was written for.
I wrote this pattern with only one set of numbers; 153 stitches and 224 rows, to accommodate all the mini sweaters I wanted in my design.
I knit and wrote it in a DK WEIGHT yarn with a stitch gauge of 25 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches-(10 cm)-(6.25 stitches and 9 rows = one inch-(2.5 cm). The sweater has the finished bust measurement of 49 inches-(124.4 cm) and the length from the shoulder of 25 inches-(63.5 cm).
If you would like a different size pullover, there is an option; you can use either the DK WEIGHT YARN, used for the sample or use a FINGERING OR SOCK WEIGHT YARN. By experimenting with different size needles you will get many different gauges. The gauge should look pleasing to you, not be too loose (intarsia does not work well if it is knit too loosely) or too tight. There are two charts to see all the size possibilities in different gauges.
FREE CUSTOM WRITTEN SLEEVE PATTERN FOR YOUR INDIVIDUAL GAUGE
If you have a gauge different from the gauge the pattern is written for; I am offering, at no extra charge, a free custom sleeve pattern, using your shoulder to wrist, spine to wrist and shoulder bone to bone measurements.
Sleeves can be a little trickier on an oversized style. The pattern will include picked-up and knit to cuff, and separate sleeve, starting at the cuff. Accurately fill out the chart, included with pattern, and email it to me. I will email the custom sleeve pattern to you.
